Pen Names

If you create a pen name, choose a name you can live with for as long as you write. You should find it easy to say and easy for others to remember.

Is a pen name like hiding? Not at all. Mark Twain made no secret of his legal name, Samuel Clemens. Agatha Christie the same, and Ruth Rendell and many others.

My pen name Jane Bullard is a writing name that I chose for a personal experience book. For privacy of others in the book, I wrote as "Jane Bullard" and kept on using that pen name. My given name is Jean, and my married surname is Purcell.
